He was founder of the Westerville Free Will Baptist Church where he served for 30 years. Besides being an outstanding pastor he was a very active denominational leader. He represented the state of Ohio on the general board of the national Association from 1984-2002. He was honored to speak at the 1989 national convention in Tampa, Florida. As a local pastor he served on many district ordaining council's, mission board and moderator. On the state level he served as the moderator of the state Association, served on the state general board and executive board. His early ministry was among the Enterprise Baptist churches before his leaving to organize the Westerville church in 1959. He was a marvelous mentor and fellow servant.
