The Duluth city directory for 1911 shows that she was a teacher, but does not state which school or location. She was reported to be residing at her parents' home at 317 North 22nd Avenue West in Duluth. In 1912 and 1913 she attended the Duluth Business College. From 1918 through 1924 the directory lists her as a nurse, still residing at the above address. After 1924 she went to Washington, D.C. to take further training in nursing, obtaining a registered nurse's certificate. She returned to Duluth upon completion of her degree. The scrapbooks of her sister Agnes Berg Rhode state that "Nina graduated from Sanitarium and hospital in Tacoma Park, Washington D.C. May 29, 1926." She married Matt Roberts July 26, 1927 in Duluth when she was 38. He was 48. Thereafter she lived in Chisholm, Minnesota, where Roberts was a clerk in the school system. They had no children. After her husband died she moved to Duluth, purchased a house on West Mankato Street, and took care of her sister Stella in her declining years. She purchased a car and learned to drive when she was 65 years old. She died at age 83. She left all her possessions and home to the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
