Agnes had no middle name. She was the fifth of twelve children. She was baptized, probably in the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She went to Charlotte, Michigan to train to be a nurse at Dr. W. E. Newark's hospital there. Her sister Ida was married to Dr. Newark and was in charge of training. Apparently she stayed there until 1906 or 1907 when she returned to Duluth. During that period she spent a short time in Shaker Heights, Ohio. After her return to Duluth she continued her nursing in private homes.
When in Duluth she lived at her parents' home at 317 North 22nd Avenue West, with her mother and sisters.
Agnes met Sigurd A. Rhode and they married 26 Jan 1909. She was 28. They were married at her parents' home. They took a horse and buggy to the railway station and honeymooned in Saint Paul. They resided at 1209 1/2 West 1st Street after returning to Duluth. They lived at 1225 West 1st Street from 1914 through 1938, and at 2108 East 2nd Street from December 1938 until her death in June 1968.

Obituary from the "News-Tribune" of Duluth, Minnesota dated Sunday 23 Jun 1968:
Mrs. Agnes B. Rhode, 88, of 2109 E. 2nd St., died Saturday in a Duluth Hospital. Born in Duluth, she was a lifetime resident of the city. Mrs. Rhode was a member of Zenith Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star, Aftenro Society and Seventh Day Adventist Church. Surviving are two sons, Robert, Duluth, and Richard, Yucaipa, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Matt Roberts and Mrs. Stella Widner, Duluth, and Mrs. Leonard E. Lambert, Virginia; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
