Frank Pickerill Rites Here Friday

Funeral services for Frank Pickerill, 68, will be held at the First Lutheran church in Avoca Friday at 2 p.m. Rev. Joseph Gerlt will officiate and burial will be in the Avoca cemetery.

Mr. Pickerill died following a heart attack at his home in Grand Island, Nebr., on Tuesday morning.

He was born on October 30, 1885 at Stuart, Nebraska. As a small boy, he moved with his parents to a farm south of Avoca.

For a number of years he worked for the town of Avoca in the old light plant. On April 7, 1909 he was married to Neta Mecklenburg and for the next five years they made their home near Naper, Nebraska.

The family returned to Avoca and Mr. Pickerill was employed by various implement shops here. Later on he went into the plumbing business in Avoca for himself. He has followed this line of work for the past ten years at Grand Island.

Survivors include, his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Paul Preston of Worthington, Minn.; a son Francis of Grand Island; 3 grandchildren; and a brother, Fred of Sterling, Colorado.
