Louisa was the oldest of nine children born to Enoch Patterson and Mary Jane (Dawkins) Williams. She married Dennis Curtis York in 1909. They were the parents of five children: Dennis Patterson, Mary Ann, Eula Mae, Tena Iris and Golda Lou.

MRS LOUISE CAROLINE (WILLIAMS) YORK

RAMSEUR, Jan. 5, - Mrs. Louise Carolina York, 65, wife of Dennis Curtis York, died today at her home, Route 1, Staley, North Carolina. Death was attributed to pneumonia. Funeral will be held Friday, 7 Jan 1944 at 11 a.m. at Shady Grove Baptist church, of which she had been a member since girlhood. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Surviving in addition to her husband, are three daughters; Misses Mary and Golda, of the home, and Mrs. Fred M. Allred, of Fayetteville; a son, Dennis Patterson, of Route 1, Staley; her father, Enoch Patterson Williams, of Route 1, Staley; two sisters, Mrs. G. P. Wright and Mrs. J. F. Heilig, both of Route 1, Staley; and three brothers, O. S., J. T. and R. D. Williams, all of Greensboro, North Carolina.

Grandson Jesse Curtis York at age six, son of Dennis Patterson York, remembers visiting his grandmother as she lay in bed with pneumonia. She admonished him to be a "good boy" whatever happened to her. Jesse has never forgotten her loving reminder to be a "Good Boy" by focusing his life on Jesus Christ as he witnessed in her life.
