Louis Barnes, 55, died at his residence on Barnes Pike Tuesday morning. He had been ill for the past two years and during the last few months of his life he suffered of cancer. He was a life-long resident of Grant County, having been born and reared here. He was an excellent farmer and for a number of years he was employed by O. O. Frakes Mercantile Company. Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Stella Barnes, his father, William Barnes, and one brother, Forrest Barnes. Last rites were held at the Baptist Church on Thursday. Interment was made in the local cemetery under the supervison of O. P. Elliston.
