Claxton - Mrs. Emory P. "Flaudie" Smith, 91, died Tuesday at Evans Memorial Hospital after a short illness. The Peach County native lived in Claxton the past 10 years and lived in Bryan County most of her life. She was a member of Pembroke United Methodist Church and the Georgia Retired Teachers Association. She was retired from Bryan County School System and was a graduate of Georgia College in Milledgeville.
Surviving are two daughters, Carolyn Scheflen of Pennsauken, N.J., and Barbara Tippins of Dunwoody; two sons, Dr. Emory P. Smith Jr. of Claxton and Dr. Herbert D. Smith of Warner Robbins; 14 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Thursday at Pembroke United Methodist Church, burial in Northside Cemetery in Pembroke.
