Eastport – Ada Mae Townsend, 82, died Friday, September 14, 2007 at the Eastport Memorial Nursing Home with her family by her side. Ada was born in Brooks on February 6, 1925, daughter of the late Millard and Bertha (Ryan) Gibbs. She was a member of the North Baptist Bible Church in Eastport.

Besides her parents, Ada was predeceased by a daughter, Helen Hubbard; five brothers, Harold, Eddie, Ervin, Marshall and Freeman Gibbs; and five sisters, Francis Jameson, Shirley Tibbetts, Mavis Bennett, Isabelle Gibbs and Emma Gibbs. Surviving are six children, Roger and Kay Penney of Winslow, Alton Penney of Vasselboro, Dale Penney of Vasselboro, Linda Bucklan of Bangor, Andrea Curtis of Robbinston and Sandra Seeley and husband Junior of Eastport; two sisters, Glenice McIntyre of Searsport and Marian Veino and husband Vernon of Newburgh; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery. (Mays Funeral Home)
