Glenice McIntyre, 88, of Waldo and Camden, died peacefully in Camden on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016.

Glenice was a daughter of Millard and Bertha Gibbs of Brooks. She attended Morse Memorial School and worked on the family farm and at the box and canning factories in Brooks and the sardine and poultry factories in Belfast.

She married Durward "Slim" McIntyre and raised five children in Waldo.

Glenice had a special gift for always finding the good in others. She loved babies, animals, the Boston Red Sox, bowling and playing cards with her daughter Jan.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, her daughter Olive van Doren and 11 of her siblings.

She is survived by her son Jay McIntyre of Waldo; her daughters Jo Busby and husband Ed of Seabrook, S.C., Jan McIntyre of Belfast, Jeanne McIntyre of Waldo, and her "adopted" daughter Judy Fenwick of Belfast; her sister Marion and brother-in-law Vernon Vieno of Newburgh; six grandchildren: Amy, Debbie, Melissa, Ed, Erin and Colin; and six great-grandchildren Kylie, Mike, Kyle, Okie, Kyle and "the" Keldon.

The family wishes to express appreciation to the staff of Windward Gardens in Camden who provided her with loving care during her final years.

A graveside service will be held at Paul Cemetery in Waldo.
