Hollis Dunican
Hollis Dunican, 71, a resident of South Stream road, East Pownal, for several years, died at his home yesterday morning. He had been in poor health for several months.
He was born in Vernon Sept 25, 1882. He had been a mill worker and carpenter and had been employed on the town roads.
He and Mrs. Dunican observed their 50th wedding anniversary Dec 9.
Besides his wife, the former Nellie Bent, he leaves eight daughters, Mrs. Clyde Chandler of Beacon Falls, Conn., Mrs. William Goodwin of Pownal Center, Mrs. Henry Grzanowicz of New Hartford, N.Y., Mrs. Clarence Vadakin, Mrs. William Strohmaier and Mrs. Adolph Strohmaier of Middle Pownal road, Mrs. Edward Pettibone of Pownal and Mrs. Edward Fryc of Adams, Mass.; two sons, Charles Dunican of Beacon Falls, Conn. and Alfred of South Stream road, Bennington; one brother, Walter of Albany, N.Y.; several granchildren and nieces and nephews.
A daughter, Mrs. Paul Webb of Bennington, died Sept 25, 1950.
Funeral services will be held at the Walbridge Funeral Home in Bennington tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Clyde R. Summner of South Shaftsbury, pastor of the Pownal Methodist Church, will officiate.
The body will be placed in the vault at Park Lawn cemetery in Bennington.
