Mrs. Clark H. Green Sr.
Shaftsbury - Mrs. Clark H. Green, Sr., 67, the former Muriel Phillips, died late Wednesday afternoon at Montoe Park Nursing Home in Bennington, where she had been a patient for three months.
Mrs. Green was the wife of Clark H. Green, Sr. of Twitchell Hill, Shaftsbury, who for many years had been a sales representative for Home Furniture in Bennington.
A native of East Haven, Vt., she was born Aug 6, 1899, daughter of Carroll and Lena (Gero) Phillips. She had received her education in Lyndon schools and also at Lyndon Institute. She came to Bennington in 1917 with her parents.
She was married in 1918 to Mr. Green. In her younger years she had sung in the choirs of various churches and was fond of music. Her home and her family had been her primary interests.
Survivors besides her husband are five sons; Roger of Appleton, Wis.; Wendell of South Barre; Ernest of Keene, N.H.; Henry and Clark, Jr., both of Bennington; two daughters, Mrs. Alfred Dunican of Roxbury and Mrs. Merrill Becker of Bennington; 27 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
The family will be in attendance at Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home today from 7 to 9 pm and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.
The funeral will be Saturday at 11am at the funeral home, with Pastor Richard O. Leneban of the Missonary Alliance Church officiating. Entombment will be in Park Lawn vault.
