Arnold "Keith" Bales, 59, of Connersville and formerly of Terre Haute, passed away Saturday May 31, 2008 at the VA Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born Oct. 19, 1948, to Howard and Audrey (Chilton) Lavey. He was preceded in death by his father in 1968; two brothers, Ron Bales in 1995, and Larry Bales Sr in 2006.

He leaves behind his mother of Terre Haute, his brother Eddie, and sister Karen; his four children, Heather, Adam, Lorie, & Rachel and six grandchildren.

Despite his own physical ailments, he had been a volunteer van driver for nine years with the V.A. Chapter 9, taking patients for their VA doctor appointments; first driving to Danville, IL, later years to Indianapolis, IN.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Zion Church 1501 Indiana St. Connersville, Ind. Visitation is 11 a.m. until services Saturday.
