Calais – Marie J. Williams, 91, died Monday, July 28, 2008 at a Bangor hospital. Marie was born in Soldier Pond on December 16, 1916, daughter of the late Bapties and Delmia (Russell) Charette. She served in the Women's Army Corp. Detachment during WWII. Marie worked for many years as a machine operator at Wareknitters and was a member of Sherman Bros. Post #3 American Legion.

Besides her parents, Marie was predeceased by her husband, Charles Williams; two brothers, Leonard and Antone Charette; and a sister, Irene Vail.

Surviving are her four brothers, Bert Charette of Calais, Donald Charette of Conn., and John and Bill Charette of Fort Kent; two sisters, Delores Pelletier of Conn., and Rella Theriault of Ft. Kent; and many nieces and nephews.
Burial will follow in Calais Cemetery. (Mays Funeral Home)
