He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He retired from Burlington Industries and was proprietor of two businesses, the BP Station in Radford and the Glade Hill Amoco in Glade Hill.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Minnie Arrington; his father, Haden Cooper; four brothers, and four sisters. Surviving are his loving wife of 60 years, Lucille Weaver Cooper; two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Cooper, Beulah Hodges.
Interment will be in Sandy Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.
