— Shelby Fay (Carr) Bennett, 66, of Anderson, died April 7, 2011, at Saint John's Medical Center after a 10-year extended illness.

Shelby was born Oct. 4, 1944, in Livingston, Tenn., to Woodroe and Lydia (Davis) Carr. Shelby was a homemaker.

She was a member of Valley Grove Free Will Baptist Church.

She liked the outdoors, scrapbooking, collecting angels and painting. She was a great cook.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph Bennett of Anderson, whom she married June 23, 1962, in Anderson; her two daughters, Lisa Bennett and Beverly (Angelo) Smith of Alexandria; four siblings, Geraldine Centers (Clark Hovermale) of Sweetser, Roy Carr of Anderson, Helen Carpenter of Marion and David Carr of Anderson; four grandchildren, Kent (Emily) Rosborough of Anderson, Amber (Curt) Courtad of Lima, Ohio, Alex Maier of Greenfield and Mercedes Scott of Anderson; six great-grandchildren; two aunts; several nieces and nephews; and a special pet Maltese Molly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; one sister; and one grandson.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Revs. Joe Roysden and Bill Ledbetter officiating.
