"J.A. McAninch was born February 5th, 1840; died January 20th, 1899, aged 59 years, 11 months and 25 days. He was born in Huntington County, Pa.; when but a small boy his parents moved to Licking County, Ohio; they resided there but a few years when they came to Morrow County, Ohio and settled near Edison. On October 18th, 1860, he was united in marriage to Mrs. Mary A. Braddock; to this union was born one son who still survives. At the breaking out of the rebellion, he enlisted in the army where he served some four years. For five years he was afflicted with rheumatism, being confined to his room nearly the whole of the time. When 21 he was converted and united with the M.E. Church, since which time he has remained a faithful member. He leaves a son; two grandchildren, four stepdaughters, six brothers, one sister and a large circle of friends to mourn his loss, his wife having preceded him only four weeks. The funeral services were held On Wednesday, February 1st, in the Iberia M.E. church, conducted by Rev. Idleman, assisted by Rev. Caldwell, and his remains were interred in the Iberia cemetery."
