Obituary:
When 10 years of age, she gave her heart to God and united with the M. E. church and has ever since lived an exemplary Christian life. Her whole trust was in him who said, "I will not leave thee nor forsake thee". So long as consciousness remained, she declared her peace with the Maker. she passed to her final rest January 2, 1899, after an illness of about eleven months, aged 77 years, 8 months, and 11 days. She leaves a husband, five children, eight grandchildren, four brothers and a circle of friends to mourn her loss. Funeral services were conducted in the M.E. church at Iberia by her pastor, Rev. S. E. Idleman, after which was was interred in the cemetery at Iberia.

Dearest Mother, thou hast left us
and thy loss we deeply feel
but 'twas God that hath bereft us
he can all our sorrows heal

On May 3rd, 1843 she was united in marriage to Martin C. Braddock. To this union, six children were born, two sons and four daughters. Her two sons preceded her in death, one giving his life for his country. Her husband was buried March 18, 1856.

October 18, 1860 she was again married to J. A. McAninch. To this union was given one son who survives her.
