EDWARD F. CLOTHIER

Edward Fletcher Clothier was born in Wayne county, Iowa, Sept. 6, 1871, and passed away Dec. 1, 1957, at the Baker Nursing Home in Chariton at the age of 86 years, two months and 25 days.

He was the son of Lemon Scot and Mary Ann Clothier and lived most of his life in Wayne and Lucas counties.

In 1907, he was united in marriage to Myrtle Mae Moncrief and to this union were born four sons and two daughters.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his loving wife, his sons, L. Scot of Burlington, Gordon of Denver, Dwight and Walter of Chariton, his daughters, Mrs. Mildred Benson of Ft. Madison and Mrs. Marcia Lescoe of Rock Springs, Wyo., four daughters-in-law, two sons-in-law, 14 grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

He also leaves on sister, Mrs. Myrtle McNay of Pacific, Mo., and several nieces and nephews.

Edward Clothier was a kind and loving husband and father, and a hard worker who always provided for his family. He will be deeply grieved by those who loved him so much.

Funeral services were held Dec. 3, at the Beardsley Funeral Home at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Lester C. Hall officiating. Interment was at the Chariton cemetery.
