Nima Mahfouz, 92, of West Orange, Texas, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at his residence.

Graveside services to honor his life will be at 1:00 P.M. Friday, April 8, 2011 at the Union Springs Cemetery in Union Springs, Louisiana. Officiating will be Reverend Joel Warren, pastor of the McDonald Memorial Baptist Church in Orange. Military honors will be held by the Honor Guard detail from Fort Polk in Leesville, Louisiana. A gathering of family and friends for a time of reflection will be from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Thursday, April 7, 2011 at Dorman Funeral Home in Orange.

Mr. Mahfouz was born on March 19, 1919 in Farrsville, Texas, a rural community in Newton County to his parents, Richard Mahfouz and Barbara (Denby) Mahfouz.

He had lived in the Orange area since 1952. He worked as an operator at the DuPont – Sabine River Works Plant in Orange and he was a veteran of the United States Army during World War, II. Mr. Mahfouz was a very simple, hard working man who enjoyed quail hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.

Preceding Mr. Mahfouz in death are his parents and his six brothers and sisters.

Cherishing his memory most are his wife of 69 years, whom he cared for and loved very much, Helen Rogers Mahfouz; his daughters, Carol Meyers and Brenda Anderson; his sister, Maxine Morgan; five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, numerous extended family and a host of friends.
