Robert Fremont Mortensen, 82, of the Camlu Retirement Apartments, 1701 Plaza Way, died there April, 6, 1993. A memorial gathering will be from 1 to 3 pm Saturday at the Camlu. Cremation was held at Colonial-DeWitt Crematorium. One of 12 children, Mr. Mortensen was born Aug. 7, 1910, in Kilgore, Idaho to Peter Alonzo and Elsie Ellen Bennett Mortensen. On April 20,1931, he married Leah Sylvia Grant in Coos County, Ore. He was a life long logger who loved being out in the woods. He retired in 1970 after a logging accident. Surviving are his wife, at home; two daughters, Sylvia Faye Sherrell of Plymouth, Ind., and Mary Ellen Stelzner of Walla Walla; three sisters, Ellen Stevens of Idaho, Della Harter of Billings, Mont., and Virginia Howell of Roundup, Mont.; two brothers, Lewis Mortensen of Lancaster, Pa.,and Freeman Mortensen of Eugene; three grandchildren; one great-granddaughter, and many neices and nephews. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Larry Edwards; three brothers and three sisters.

Robert and Leah Mortensen were cremated. Waiting confirmation as to placement of the ashes.
