Funeral services for Peter Mortensen of Polson were held Tuesday afternoon at the Retz chapel. Mr. Mortensen was born at Levan, Utah, November 19, 1872 and attended Utah schools. He was a graduate of Brigham University of Provo, Utah. He was married to Elsie Bennett, September 3, 1898 and they came to the Moiese valley, after residing in Declo, Idaho. He was assistant ater master of the Flathead project until his retirement in 1947. It was in 1947 that he and his wife moved to Polson. Survivors include his widow, three daughters, Mrs. Dean Howell, Polson; Mrs. Jack Stevens, Declo and Mrs. Lloyd Harter of Pittsburg, Ohio; six sons, Alonzo, Robert and Freeman of Eugene, Ore; Bill of Port Orchard, Ore; Ray of Bozeman, Lewis of Lancaster, Pa; a brother, Robert of Charlo, two sisters, Mrs. Kate Harmon of Billings and Mrs. Joseph Hutchinson of Nevada; 32 grandchildren and five great granchildren.
