Mrs. Charles Adams Dies
Mrs. Charles Adams, 70, prominent Cordele matron, died this morning in Palmyra Park hospital at Albany after an illness of several weeks. She was the wife of the late Charles Adams.
A native of Columbia, S. C., she was the former Mary Carolyne Rogers, daughter of the late Walter Britt and Mabel Massey Rogers. She had resided in Cordele for 44 years. Mrs. Adams was a member of the Cordele First United Methodist church, a former member of Fort Early Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, Cordele Garden Club, Cordele Symphony Club, Cordele Women's Club and the twentieth Century Club.
Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Huntley Johnson of Pensacola, Fla.; one son, Charles Adams of Cartersville, a brother, L. L. Rogers of Albany, one sister, Mrs Jerome Brown of Albany and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Cordele First United Methodist Church with Rev. William H. Hurdle officiating. Interment will be in Sunnyside Cemetery.
