Dr. Tiffany died either in April or May 1835 at the age of 72. It was thought that he was first buried in the Cooley Cemetery and later moved to St. John's Anglican Church Cemetery, Ancaster.
He was so well loved in the area, that a large crowd attended his funeral. The procession of people, horses and carriages extended for quite a distance. However the turn-around space at the Cooley burial grounds was minimal, and it apparently created a fair delay and confusion. Very likely the first case of traffic congestion in Upper Canada!
