Crash Victim Had Left Blakesburg
BLAKESBURG---Richard Fritz Pearson, 24, of Kirksville, Mo., who was fatally injured Thursday night at Glenwood, Mo., was enroute home from a visit in Blakesburg with his brother, Jerry. They are sons of Dr. and Mrs. Roy R. Pearson of Muscatine, both former residents of this community. Pearson died at 1:25 a.m. Friday at Grim-Smith hospital in Kirksville. He was driving alone when his car failed to make the turn at the junction of Schuyler county route B with US 136 at Glenwood, Mo. He had been southbound on the county road. With his wife and 11-month old daughter Pearson had moved to Kirksville two weeks ago from Mt. Pleasant, where he had studied at Iowa Wesleyan College. He was enrolled for the fall session of the Kirksville College of Osteopathy and Surgery. His father and his aunt, Dr. Stella Pearson, are partners in an Osteopathic practice at Muscatine. He was born February 6, 1932 in Muscatine, the son of Roy R and Ona Fritz Pearson. On July 31, 1952, he married Jimmie Lou Henderson. Surviving besides his parents and his wife are one daughter, Terri Lou, and two brothers, Jerry of Blakesburg, and Robert of LeMars. The funeral will be at Muscatine Monday. The Rev. G. Paul Jones of Ottumwa will be in charge. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Muscatine, Iowa.
