Samuel Faye Arrington was born in western Tennessee but moved to southwestern Kentucky at a young age. His schooling, in local one-room schools, ended with the eighth grade. A farmer and carpenter all his life, he raised corn and dark fired tobacco for 60 years without missing a crop of either. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for many years and a devoted baseball fan until his death, having played on local teams regularly as a young man. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spent many happy hours hunting with his friends and his trusty bird dog Jeff. Sam F. moved his family to a small farm near Moscow, KY, in 1906. He died 5 Jun 1966 and is buried in the Harmony Cemetery. (Hickman County History, Clinton, KY, Vol. 1, 1983, pg. 17, Published by Hickman County Historical Society, Clinton, KY.)
