Born May 19, 1925, in Locust Run, he is the son of the late Harry B. and Bertha (Prye) Dreese.
He is survived by his wife, Queenie J. (Ranck) Dreese, whom he married June 16, 1945, also living at Brookline Manor, two sons, Ronald W. Dreese and wife, Glenda, of McAlisterville, and Daniel W. Dreese and wife, Connie, of McAlisterville, one daughter, Patricia F. Richardson and husband, Rodney, of East Waterford, one sister, Betty Dressler, of Harrisburg, seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one step-great-granddaughter, and two step-great-great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Wilson, Madelyn Gable, and Anna Mary Graybill.
Harry was a truck driver for J.A. Clark of Mifflintown, leased to Sullivan Lines, Aero Trucking, and Kaplan Trucking. After retiring, he worked for John H. Sheaffer, Inc. in Mexico.
He was a member of Mexico United Methodist Church, where he had served as superintendant, president of the board of trustees, and Sunday school teacher. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
His funeral was at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 7 at Guss Funeral Home, 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown with Rev. Robert Graybill officiating. Interment was in Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown. There was a viewing Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requested that contributions be made in memory of Harry to Mexico United Methodist Church, PO Box 133, Mexico, PA 17056 or to the American Legion Scholarship Endowment Fund, PO Box 2324, Harrisburg, PA 17105.
