ELK GARDEN,WEST VIRGINIA -- Susanna M. Durst, 96, of Elk Garden, W.Va., passed away Thursday, March 24, 2011, at her home.
Born June 21, 1914, at Laueldale, W.Va.; she was the daughter of the late Jackson and Nellie Victoria (Biggs) Aronhalt.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Luther William Durst, Jan. 7, 1997; a daughter, Mildred L. Sayers, on March 27, 1999, the wife of Jack L. Sayers of Westminster, Md.; two sisters, Myrtle Kitzmiller and Mabel (Kincade) Yates; an infant Aronhalt and five brothers, Walter, Harry, Edward, Vincin, Oliver and Robert Aronhalt.
Surviving are her two sons, Robert T. Durst and wife, Nancy, Blackville, W.Va., and Kenneth W. Durst and wife Dottie, Elk Garden, W.Va.; one daughter, Linda A. (Durst) Mayhew and husband William L. Mayhew, Elk Garden, W.Va.; brother, Vernon (Jackie) Aronhalt, Elk Garden; sisters, Sarah (Trenton, Parrish), Boonesboro, Md., and Lillian Taylor, Perry, Ohio; ten grandchildren; 17 great- grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren; two adopted great grandchildren and three step-great grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, P.A., 710 Church Street, Kitzmiller, MD from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Saturday, March 26, 2011.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 27, 2011, at 1 p.m. at the Elk Garden Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Donald Marple, the Rev. Byron Mayberry and the Rev. Leslie Hipp officiating.
Friends may call at the Assembly of God Church one hour prior to service. Interment will be in the IOOF Cemetery, Elk Garden, W.Va.
