Aaron Betts Nordyke was a Friend (Quaker). He was granted a certificate to Richland Monthly Meeting along with his parents, Jesse Nordyke and Lavina Hunt, on 19 August 1854 by Fairfield Monthly Meeting, Highland County, Ohio. He was received on certificate from Fairfield Monthly Meeting with his parents Jesse Nordyke and Lavina Hunt on 9 November 1854 by Richland Monthly Meeting, Keokuk County, Iowa.
Aaron married Mary Margaret Beatty on Dec. 28, 1873. Mary died shortly after child birth of their only son Walter Daniel Nordyke. Aaron moved West leaving Walter with Mary's Mother.
Aaron later married Grace Hayes before 1895. They had four daughers, Doris, Rosabel, Marion, and Myra.
