Death of Catherine Wolfe Former Resident of Carroll Dies in Anthon, Iowa
Anthon Newspaper gives account of the death at this place of Mrs. Catherine Wolfe. The deceased was the widow of Edward Wolfe former resident of Carroll and will be well remembered by many residence of this city. The following is the obituary notice as published in the Anthon newspaper. Mrs. Catherine Wolfe for many years was a resident of this city. Saturday morning April 26 at the home of her daughter Mrs. H.B. Walling after a lingering illness of several months. The funeral was held Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. The remains were taken to Ottawa, Illinois where they were interred with her husband who passed away December 12, 1911. She was born in County Tipperary, Ireland in 1847. She came with her parents to Ottawa, Illinois when she was seven years of age. In 1868 she was married to Edward Wolfe. To this union four children were born, two sons and two daughters. The oldest son Richard died in Carroll, Iowa at the age of fourteen years. She is survived by her son, Andrew L. Wolfe and her daughters Mrs. Herman B. (Mary) Walling and Mrs. Thomas B. (Margaret) O'Donnell all of Anthon, Iowa. During her life she was loved and respected by all who knew her. (remainder of obituary unreadable).
