Emily L. Mittan, 81, of Caldwell, died Thursday, Oct. 24, at a Caldwell nursing home of natural causes. Mrs. Mittan was born July 8, 1904, at Auburn, Neb., to Salem H. and Mae M. Kelso Connick. She married Henry Mittan on Dec. 24, 1922, at Haysprings, Neb. They later moved to Chadron, Neb., and then to Caldwell in 1945, where she has since resided. She was an active member and Sunday school teacher at the First Baptist Church at Chadron.

She is survived by three daughters, two sisters, six grandchildren, eight grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Mickey M. in 1945; two grandsons; a granddaughter and a son-in-law.
