In the 1860's, after Arvhibald's brother Ner R and his brother in law Thomas Fry got out of the Civil War service, Archibald Middleswarth and wife Louise Kinney and some of his brothers and sisters moved to Iowa. They took the name Middlesworth in Iowa. When Archibald Middleswarth returned to Pa, he went back to Middleswarth.
Archibald Middleswarth and wife Louise Kinney had 5 daughters:
-Mary Ellen Middlesworth married James Brainard
1st set of twins:
-Lida Jane Middlesworth married John Allen Morris
-Florence Louise Middlesworth married 1st John Arnold;2nd John C Wright
2nd set of twins
-Ida May Middlesworth married Abraham Rainsbarger
-Ada B Middlesworth married Silvester Ratcliff (Ada probably buried in Oregon)
Archibald Middleswarth married 2nd Mary Elizabeth Work, daughter of Joseph Work and Elizabeth Dunlap. No children from this marriage.
Archibald is the son of Moses Middleswarth born 1810 Pa and Eliza Houtz born 1813 Pa and Grandson of Ner Middleswarth 1783 NJ and Christina Schwartzkop 1789. At times, Archibald is seen on the census as Archie or Arch.
Archibald Middleswarth and Louise Kinney moved to Iowa around 1865 with his brother Ner R Middlesworth and 2nd wife Harriet Stokichen, his sister Catherine Middlesworth and 1st husband Thomas Fry and his sister Mary Ann Middleswarth and 1st husband Nicholas Nicholls. The other family members that went with Archibald to Iowa are all buried in Iowa.
