Norma Jean (Hooker) Hansen

TERRE HAUTE — Norma Jean (Hooker) Hansen went to be with the Lord at 8:55 a.m. Friday, Feb. 4, 2011, while residing at Royal Oaks Kindred Facility. Norma was born on Oct. 29, 1933, to Oscar and Eva Hooker, who have since passed on. On Nov. 22, 1952, Norma married the love of her life, Robert J. Hansen, and continued to devote their lives to each other as sworn by their wedding vows.
Norma had several brothers and sisters including: Maxine, Kendal, Genevieve, Oscar Jr. and Jimmy Lee, all of whom have preceded her in death. Norma also left behind three sisters including, Rosella Sanders, Shirley McLin and Mary Loudermilk.
Norma's surviving family includes only son, Martin J. Hansen along with his wife Carol A. Hansen; two grandchildren, Ryan and Kara Bailey; and one granddog, Bella Marie. Also surviving are several very close nieces and nephews including their children for two more generations.
Norma was a terrific homemaker and housewife who loved to cook for guests, making wonderful homemade pies and cakes. Norma also loved to exercise her mind by working crossword puzzles and other brain teasers. Norma's favorite pastime was making quilts for loved ones. Norma was a wife, mother and aunt, but most of all she was loved and will be missed.
