Teddy Ray Lacy, 54, of 2947 Cat Creek Road, Stanton, died Tuesday, March 15,
2011 at University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington. Born in Winchester he
was a son of the late Granville Alex and Zula Belle Tipton Lacy and he was a
member of Clay City First Church of God and Middle Fork First Church of God.
Ted Lacy was a former Powell County Jailer for three terms, a former officer
with the Stanton Police Department, a former Powell County Deputy Sheriff and a
former DARE officer. He was a member of F.O.P. Red River Lodge 70 and a member
of the Blue Knights Chapter 17. In addition to his parents, he was also
preceded in death by his brother, Randy Lacy.
Surviving relatives are his wife, Teresa Kurry Lacy; three sons Teddy Ray
(Monica) Lacy, Jr., Bruce (Shayna) Lacy and Alex (Felicia) Lacy all of Stanton;
two daughters Tina (Terry) Johnson of Mt. Sterling and Alicia (John) Estes of
Stanton; two brothers Chester (Bonnie) Lacy of Stanton and Garland (Sue) Lacy of
Clay City; one sister-in-law, Ruth Lacy and eight grandchildren: Nathan Harris,
Trever Harris, Raigen Lacy, Ashlyn Lacy, Kamrym Kennon, Keegan Lacy, Molli Belle
Lacy and Talan Lacy.
Funeral services were officiated by Rev. Garland Lacy and Rev. Anthony Molihan
with eulogies by Chester Lacy, Alex Lacy, Judge Sara Combs and Teresa Lacy and
was held on Saturday, March 19 at the Stanton Christian Church Family Life
Center, 100 West Church Street, Stanton. Interment followed in the Cat Creek
Cemetery with Randy Lacy, Robert Mathews, Danny Rogers, Kevin Neal, Donovan
Crabtree, Charlie Crabtree, Greg Conner and Virgil Rucker having served as
active pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers were Judge Frank Fletcher, Judge Kenny Profitt, Richard
Fain, Judge Sara Combs, Judge Jim Potts, John Cox, Larry Patterson, Judge Larry
Miller, Linda and Bill Thorpe, Danny Means, Dallas Clark, Larry Meadows, Wallace
Begley, James Congleton, Jamie Caudill and Lloyd Stamper. Arrangements by
