Silvers Rites Set Saturday---The funeral for Bill Silvers, 91, will be at 2:30 pm Saturday in the chapel of the Strode Funeral Home.
He died Thursday, April 19, 1990, at his home on Rt. 2, Mulhall.
The Rev. Leroy Samuels will officiate at the service and interment to follow in the Clarkson Cemetery, southwest of Stillwater.
Memorials are requested for Judith Karman Hospice, 720 S. Duncan, No. 12, Stillwater, 74074.
John William Silvers, who preferred to be called "Bill", was born Sept. 16, 1898, Scotland County, MO. He was the son of William and Sarah (Stitsworth) {Titsworth} Silvers.
He was reared and educated in Missouri and moved to Oklahoma in 1914 at the age of 16. He had lived east of Mulhall the rest of his life.
He and the former Elva Elizabeth Andrews were married at Perry on August 12, 1922.
Silvers attended the Vassar Community Church and was a retired carpenter and farmer.
He is predeceased by a brother, four sisters and a great-grandson.
Surviving is his wife, a daughter and her husband, Darlene and Max Warren of Guthrie; three sons and their wives, Raymond and Alice Silvers of Cushing; Bob and Mary Silvers of Stillwater and Glenn and Phyllis Silvers of Mulhall.
Also surviving are 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren.
He also has two living brothers, Norman Silvers of Glencoe, and Charley Silvers of Fruita, Colorado.
