Marion Barrios Denmon, age 89, passed away on March 25, 2011.
The child of Alphonse Joseph Barrios and Mazie Virginia Barrios, Marion is preceded in death by her husband, Master Chief Augustus Morris Denmon.
Survivors include her brothers and sisters-in-law, Melvin and Nancy Barrios, Sebastion and Tomiko Barrios and Alvin and Karen Barrios; loving children, Joseph and Celeste Denmon, Virginia Denmon and Angela Denmon; beloved grandchildren, Jarrod Scott Denmon, Adam Burleson, Nicole Helmick; special niece, Deborah Illene Plessy; special friends and companions, Elizabeth (Liz) Johnson, Tracie Brewer, Tamatha (Tammy) Bibb and "Buddy."
Marion's family settled in Pensacola when Florida was just a territory. She worked in her father and uncle's metal shop - Barrios and Acosta which was founded in 1920. Marion has been a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church for 80 years. She was a loving mother and grandmother figure to countless people known as Momma D.
Pallbearers are Hubbard Stacy, Warren Carrancejie, Kerry Freeland, Buddy Rogers, Dale Brown, John English, Randy Hepworth, Cedric King and Ramon Hearn.
Visitation is at St. Joseph's Catholic Church Wednesday, March 30, 2011 beginning at 9:00 AM followed by the rosary at 9:30 and Mass at 10:00AM with Monsignor Raymon Mullins as celebrant. Interment will be at Barrancas National Cemetery.
Memorials in Marion's name can be made to Appetite for Life or the Escambia Westgate Snozelen Center.
