A Rock County resident for the past 61 years, Augusta died at 6:30 am Wednesday in Mercy Hospital where she had been a patient for the past month. She was married in 1882 to William A. Schachtschneider in Edgerton and for the past 58 years lived on the same farm in Harmony township. Mr. Schachtschneider died in March, 1919 and two sons and two daughters also preceded her in death.

Augusta's chief hobby was rug making, she having produced more than 100. She was a lover of flowers and attended to her own garden. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Janesville, Wisconsin.

Surviving are five sons, Otto and Walter at home, John at Stoughton, William, Cameron, Wisconsin and Henry Schachtschneider, Janesville; three daughters, Mrs. William Krafft, Fort Atkinson, Mrs. George Kettle, Route 3, and Mrs. Augusta Fiedler, Edgerton; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
