Mr. Kenneth L. Dart, age 81, of Oblong, Illinois, died Friday March 11, 2011 at 11:56 am at the Ridgeview Care Center, Oblong, Illinois.
He was born April 8, 1929 in Licking Township, Crawford County, Illinois, the son of Ocie Mayfield and Gladys Marie (Battershell) Dart.
On April 7, 1955 he married Carol Marie Ellis, who preceded him in death May 1, 2002.
On July 18, 2003 he married Norma (Taylor) Thompson and she survives.
Kenneth was employed by the State of Illinois Highway Department, retiring in 2000; he was a farmer for most of his life; served in the U.S. Army during Korea; member of the White Oak Church, rural Oblong, Illinois; Graduate of Oblong High School, Class of 1947; member of the Oblong American Legion Post #219, Oblong, Illinois; Oblong School Board; Soil Conservation District; Licking Township Supervisor. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren; traveling; gardening; flowers and hunting.
