Mrs Gladys Marie Dart, 78, Oblong, Rt 1, died at 7:55 Friday morning at Crawford Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. She was born in Champaign July 6, 1897, the daughter of John Wallace and Laura Belle Berry Battershell.
Mrs Dart is survived by her husband, Ocie M, whom she married in Robinson in 1917; four sons, John W Dart, Annapolis, Dr Gerald Dart, Paris, Stanley L Dart, Ft Wayne, Indiana, and Kenneth Dart, Oblong; two daughters, Mrs Warren (Shirley) Stout, Sumner, and Mrs Charlie (Wilma Jean) Bubb, Oblong; a brother Cecil Battershell, Robinson; a sister, Mrs Gertrude Bond, Oblong; 20 grandchildren; six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
Private funeral services will be at 2 pm, Sunday, at Pulliam Funeral Home, Oblong, with Rev Willard Metz officiating. Burial will be in Wilkin Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-5 and 7-9 pm today at the funeral home.
