Ralph O. Norris -- Curwensville

Ralph O. Norris, 73, of 603 George Street, Curwensville, died in the Clearfield Hospital last evening at 8:50 pm. He was born in Lawrence Township, Clearfield R.D., September 21, 1878, the son of Clark B. and Sarah E. Wall Norris, and had resided in Curwensville most of his life.

Mr. Norris had worked at the North American Refractories Co. for 45 years as a press operator. He was a member of the Curwensville Methodist church, a charter member of the Loyal Order of the Moose in Curwensville, a member of the Rescue Hose and Ladder Co. of Curwensville and a social member of the Curwensville American Legion.

Surviving him are seven children; Edward H., Mrs. Dale (Mabel) Kephart and Robert K., of Curwensville; Charles W., Cleveland, O.; Mrs. Thomas (Mildred) Garrity and Mrs. Alex A. (Sara) Warfield, West Palm Beach, Fla.; and Richard R., Pittsburgh. There are 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren surviving and the following brothers and sisters; Thomas, Chestnut, Ill.; Mrs. Roy Borger, Curwensville; Howard, Roselle, Ill.; Mrs. Willard Bloom, Curwensville R.D., and John of Williamsport.

His wife preceded him in death October 15, 1940. Funeral services will be held from his home in Curwensville Sunday at 2:30 pm with Rev. Ezra L. Parks officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the home from 2:30 this afternoon until time of services Sunday. --- Clearfield Progress August 15, 1952
