ALFRED STATION, N.Y. - Mrs. Ethel N. Borger, 89, of Alfred Station, N.Y. and formerly of Curwensville, died Thursday, Oct. 26, at 10:30 p.m. in the Jones Memorial Hospital, Wellsville, N.Y.
Born in Curwensville on Jan. 3, 1889, she was the daughter of Clark B. and Sara E. (Wall) Norris.
A lifetime member of the Curwensville United Methodist Church, she also was a member and past president of the P.O. of A. in Curwensville.
She is survived by the following children: Charles E. Borger, Niagara Falls, N.Y.; Mrs. Charles (Lida) Dumbleton, Marietta, Ohio; Mrs. Don (Mae) Mott, Alfred Station, N.Y., and Mrs. Robert (Dorothy) Smith, Burlingame, Calif.
Also surviving are five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Borger was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy E. Borger in 1969, by her parents, six brothers and four sisters.
The funeral will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Russell H. Lininger Funeral Home, Curwensville, with the Rev. Gerald A. Trostle officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville.
Friends may call in the funeral home from 7 p.m. Saturday until time of service Monday.
The family suggests contributions be made to the Curwensville United Methodist Church Building Fund.
