She was born March 22, 1916 in Romeo, Michigan to the late Edward and Elizabeth Sulflow Stepnitz.
On October 4, 1941 in Immanuel Lutheran Church in Macomb Township, she was united in marriage to Verlon C. Spicer. Together they celebrated their 54th Wedding Anniversary. Mr. Spicer preceded his wife in death September 11, 1996.
Mrs. Spicer was a homemaker. A long time member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Clinton Township, she was active with the Ladies Aid, Golden Years Senior Group and created crafts for the Time and Talent Fair that was a Christmas Bazaar held years ago. Besides her talent for growing and arranging flowers, she will be remembered as a wonderful cook, who was always willing to try a new recipe.
She is survived by her son William Spicer of Mount Clemens, granddaughters, Deborah Hanson and Shelly Harm, a great grandson David Hanson, brothers Kenneth Stepnitz, and Edward (Doris) Stepnitz both of Clinton Township.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter Beverly Harm, just one week to the day of her mother's passing, on March 9, 2011, also her brothers Howard, Melvin, and Marvin Stepnitz, sisters, Bernice Kukuk, Irene Bettcher, Angeline Ehrke and son in law Leroy Harm.
Funeral services were held on Monday, March 21, 2011 at 11:00 am (instate at 10:30 am) at Trinity Lutheran Church, 38900 Harper, Clinton Township, Michigan with the Rev. Thees Hoft officiating. Burial
