Henry Neuhaus Gets Summons
Retired Town Of Herman Farmer Dies Tuesday Evening
Henry Neuhaus, 84, retired farmer, died Tuesday evening at 8:15 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Edward Hameister, in the Town of Herman, death following a lingering illness. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon from the home and at 2 o'clock from the Bethel Reform church in the Town of Herman. Burial will be made in the church cemetery. The body will be brought to the home Thursday.
Mr. Neuhaus, who retired from active farming when his daughter and son-in-law took over his homestead in 1922, was born in the town of Newton Jan 5, 1851. He was married May 2, 1878 to Elizabeth Spindler, who survives him. The couple settled on the homestead where Mr. Neuhaus died. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1928.
Survivors besides the widow include five daughters, Mrs. Carl Westpfahl, near Sheboygan; Mrs. Oscar Huber, Town of Meeme; Mrs. Valentine Hameister, near Ada; Mrs. Edward Hameister, Town of Herman; and Mrs. William Reinecking, Town of Herman; two sons, William of Augusta and Albert, Town of Herman; a brother, Gerhardt of Colby; 43 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
