-- CHESTER - In the still morning hours of Friday, March 25, 2011, at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House, a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, Olin D. Ferguson, met his God.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at the Lando Church of God, with the Revs. Edward Harris and Jerry J. Barrineau Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Lando Cemetery.
A native of Lando, Mr. Ferguson was the son of the late George Franklin Ferguson and the late Willie Lenora Wallace Ferguson. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, serving on the USS Manchester, and was retired from Westinghouse. He was a very dedicated member of Lando Church of God.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Fred, Troy, George Marion and Llewellyn Ferguson; and his sisters, Kay and Fay Ferguson and Gladys Hough.
Surviving are his wife, Catherine Lee Ferguson; his son, Chris Ferguson and his wife, Rose, of Bristow, Va.; his daughter, Tyanne McDonald and her husband, Matt, of Rock Hill; his brothers, Leon Ferguson of Brandon, Fla., and Arnold Ferguson of Lilburn, Ga.; his sisters, Loretta Rockholt of Lando, Brenda Hannon of West Bridgewater, Mass., and Clineth Carnes of Oxford, Ga.; and three grandchildren, Nick, Dylaney and Alan.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, March 28, 2011, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Rd., Rock Hill.
Memorials may be made in Mr. Ferguson's name to Lando Church of God, P.O. Box 135, Lando, SC 29724; or Hospice & Community Care, P.O. Box 993, Rock Hill, SC 29731; or to the charity of one's choice.
