Thomas Blumer Jr.

LeCLAIRE, Iowa -- Services for Thomas E. Blumer Jr., 37, of San Diego, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of the River Catholic Church, LeClaire. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Long Grove.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Halligan-McCabe Funeral Home, Davenport, with a vigil service at 7:30 p.m. Additional visitation is one hour before the service Friday at the church.


Mr. Blumer died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 1996, at the home of his sister Jeanne Farr in San Diego, after an extended illness.

He had been employed at Scripps Green Hospital, San Diego, until his illness.

He was born June 3, 1959, in Davenport.

He had served in the Navy.

Memorials may be made to the family.

Survivors include his parents, Thomas E. and Marian Blumer, LeClaire; sisters, Theresa Parris, Davenport, Christine Blumer, LeClaire, Jacqueline Blumer, Davenport, Jeanne Farr, San Diego, and Katherine Blumer, Le Claire; a brother, Dan, Blue Grass; and his grandmothers, Cecila Blumer, Pleasant Valley, Iowa, and Katherine Atkinson, Davenport.
