Nora Pauline (Lee) Gass Boyd, 95, died Wednesday May 26, 2010 at The Brian Center in Hendersonville N.C. She was a Crittenden County native having been born Nov. 17, 1914 in Tolu. She was a member of Marion Baptist Church and she and her husband, Jesse, farmed near Sheridan for many years. Boyd was a Kentucky Colonel and enjoyed sewing and quilting.

Survivors include two daughters, Greta Boyd Baker and husband, Ed of Hendersonville, N.C., and Sharon Boyd Summers and husband, Rod of Pontoon Beach, Ill.; one sister, Ella Mae (Gass) Keeling and husband, Fred of Paducah; nine grandchildren, Frederick "Rick" Boyd and wife Tina, Jesse Clyde Boyd and wife Lisa, George Ellis Boyd and wife Donna, Edgar D. Baker, Jr. and wife Linda, Susan Baker Weis and husband Steven, Elyse Sedlacek Johnson, Ryan Sedlacek, Ross Sedlacek and wife Rachel and Camille Sedlacek Miller and husband Nathan; 10 great-grandchildren, Kelly, Jeremy, Tyler, Morgan, Alex, Luke, Nora, Lily and Nolan; and one great-great-grandchild, Todd.

She married Jesse Hodge Boyd on Dec. 24, 1932. He preceded her in death on Jan. 12, 1974. She was also preceded in death by her parents, George Washington and Cynthia Thomas Gass; a son, Freddie Hodge Boyd; a daughter, Olive DeWayne Boyd; three sisters; and one brother.

Funeral services were Saturday, May 29 at Myers Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Herbert Alexander officiating. Burial was at Deer Creek Cemetery.
