HARRY BEARD
Harry L. Beard, 65, a Waterloo native and one-time Garrett and Auburn resident died Wednesday, March 24 at 10:30 a.m. in Aransas Hospital, Aransas Pass, Texas. Mr. Beard was a patient at the hospital only a few hours and was apparently traveling through the area.
Mr. Beard retired from B&O Railroad in 1972. After retirement, he travelled extensively with his wife, Erma, and son, Stewart R., who are his only survivors.
He was born in Waterloo on Christmas Day, 1910, to Fred and Edna (Jones) Beard. He married his wife on July 1, 1934 in Anderson.
Funeral services were Saturday, March 27, at 1:00 p.m. in Graffis Funeral Home, Waterloo. Rev. Max Smsith, pastor of the Waterloo United Methodist Church officiated. Friends called after 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 26. Burial was in Waterloo Cemetery.

RETIRED B&O MAN DIES

Harry L. Beard, 65, Waterloo, a retired B&O Railroad employee, died Wednesday morning in a hospital at Aransas Pass, Tex. The body is at the Graffis Funeral Home, Waterloo, where friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday. Final rites will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday. Surviving are the wife, Erma and a son.
