Fenton Hall Sr.
Fenton Hall left Halifax County Virginia about 1785 for Pendleton District South Carolina. The area later became Anderson County.
He wrote his will in 1809; it was probated 1817.

We don't know the parents of Fenton Hall. The many online claims that he is the son of William and Elizabeth (Choice) Hall are unfounded.
This Elizabeth Choice born c 1750 was the daughter of Tully Choice. All of Tully Choice's children were born around 1750. Two of them served in the Revolutionary War.

No amount of jiggling the dates can make this Elizabeth Choice old enough to be the mother of Fenton Hall who was also born about 1750.

This misunderstanding comes from the fact that Tully Choice's daughter, Elizabeth, did marry a William Hall. He was a different William Hall. William and Elizabeth (Choice) Hall lived on Snow River the same time our William Hall lived near Banister River in Halifax Co., VA. I say "our" William Hall, but we cannot prove Fenton's father was named William.

Perhaps someday we will find the parents of Fenton Hall, if we keep looking.

No document or other evidence shows a middle name for Fenton Hall. It is widely spread on the internet a middle name and a middle initial for him, but I believe that is a mistake.

If anyone can show evidence for a middle name please let me know. Online trees are not evidence.

Other children of Fenton and Hannah Hall are:
Martin Hall born c 1774 died before 1805
Nancy Hall born 1775 died young
Rhoda Hall married James Tucker
Jonathan Hall married Delilah Allen
James Brown Hall married Rebecca Gassaway
Margaret "Peggy" Hall married Benjamin Franklin Gassaway
Fleming Hall married Margaret Nance
