John T. Gallagher, 90, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at the Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg Center, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 5, 1920, in Toledo, Ohio, to Edward and Dorothy (Weaver) Gallagher. John served in the U.S. Army Air Corp. as a First Lieutenant Pilot, during WWII. He had worked various places over the years including: Sohio Gas, Teledyne, John Mansville and Libbey Glass. John was a handyman and could fix anything around the house and with cars. He enjoyed feeding his squirrels and birds, doing yard work, arts and paintings. Left to cherish his memory are his children: Michael (Pam) Gallagher, Molly (Gene) Tomaszewski, Pat (Sue) Gallagher, Jon Gallagher and Bill (Paula) Gallagher; step children: Mariann Mauter, Frank (Lori) Bartok, John (Charlotte) Bartok, Beckie (Tony) Hernandez and Dan (Aimee) Bartok; sister, Verna Osborne; sister-in-law, Irene Gallagher and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bette Lou Gallagher; second wife, Marie Gallagher; daughters, Kathleen Ann, Mary Louise, Jodette Marie; sisters, Lavone and Suzanne; brother, William and grandsons, Bradley Joseph Gallagher and Justin Kyle Sutter Jr. Family and friends may visit Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Road in Oregon on Friday, March 25, 2011, from 2-8 p.m. where the rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m. Services will begin in the funeral home on Saturday at 9 a.m. and continue on to St. Ignatius Church for the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery after a luncheon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Ignatius Church, Oregon, Ohio, Honor Flight Northwest Ohio or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
