Herbert Howard Johnson Sr., 71, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, at Williamson Medical Center. Mr. Johnson was born in Williamson County to the late Rollie and Rosie Sullivan Johnson and made his home in the Burwood Community.

He was a retired self-employed carpenter and member of Jones Chapel Church of the Nazarene.

Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Loretta Johnson.

Survivors include two sons, Herbert "Junior" Johnson Jr. and Robert Johnson; a daughter, Connie (Tony) Jones, all of the Burwood Community; two brothers, Neil Johnson and Arthur Byrd, both of Franklin; six sisters, Lucille Rainey, Judy Sweeney, Wilma Heithcock, Opal Primm and Jean Johnson, all of Franklin, and Linda Johnson of Birmingham, Ala.; five grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home with Gary Fewell and Ronnie Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Johnson Hollow Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be three hours prior to service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Herbert Johnson Memorial Fund.
