Mattie Lee Willingham, 86, of Berryville, Virginia, died Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at her residence.
Mrs. Willingham was born October 22, 1924 in Luray, Virginia, the daughter of Joseph and Victoria Jewell Chrisman.
She was a homemaker and caregiver.
She was a member of the Episcopal Church, Ladies Auxiliary of V.F.W. Post 9760 of Berryville, Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 004, and John H. Enders Fire & Rescue Co. Ladies Auxiliary.
She married Robert Lee Willingham on September 25, 1945. Mr. Willingham died February 28, 1977.
Surviving are a daughter, Carol L. Cyr; two sons, Robert W. Willingham and Marshall Ray "Catfish" Willingham, all of Berryville, VA; three sisters, Edna Dodson of South Carolina, Charlotte Plum of Ranson, WV, and Mary Johnston of Charles Town, WV; two grandchildren, Christina Grimes and Johnny Willingham, three great-grandchildren, Katelyn Pearson, Sierrah Willingham, and Kerri Grimes, and one great-great grandchild, Briley Craun.
A daughter and two sisters, Kathleen Viands and Margaret E Chrisman Fiddler, preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held 11:00 A. M. Monday, March 28, 2011 at the Enders & Shirley Funeral Home Chapel in Berryville with The Rev. Canon Dwight L. Brown officiating. Burial followed in Green Hill Cemetery, Berryville, Virginia.
Pallbearers were Alvin Feltner, Neal White, Alvin Poe, Rufus Goode, Jesse Longerbeam, and Johnny Willingham. Honorary pallbearers will be Members of John H. Enders Fire & Rescue Co.
The family received friends 3:00 – 5:00 P. M. Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.
